Chew on this! Neil Marshall to helm foodie-themed horror film
Now that Neil Marshall's CENTURION has hit theaters, he's looking for his next story to cook up. Looks like he's found it in a David Cohen horror script about...underground supper clubs? Yes, underground supper clubs. Never heard of them? Well, you're just not hip enough! (Don't worry. I hadn't either prior to this). Apparently, underground supper clubs are as hot as fresh bread out of the oven right now and involve secret dinner parties in which the chosen few are notified at the last minute of the location and details, which often include some kind of live entertainment.
Hmm, a recipe that mixes food, live entertainment, secrecy, mystery, and horror? It's HOSTEL meets Houston's.
Deadline is reporting that the plot centers around a character that "is an ambitious young chef who ventures into the terrifying underbelly of extreme cuisine." Extreme...like Extreme Nacho Cheese Doritos and Mountain Dew? Probably not. My guess would be as good as the source's that it likely involves cannibalism of some sorts for food lovers that feel as if they've tried everything. Guess we'll see as more news about UNDERGROUND comes out of the kicthen.
