Likely the helmer’s next film, Darren Aronofsky's NOAH is appearing to be a bigger beast than previously thought. Arguably one of the most intriguing projects that currently has yet to get into production, the over-$100 million project does have half of its financing set in stone thanks to New Regency, but is still looking for that final 50%.  However, it shouldn’t be that hard to come by, at least not now.

Vulture has revealed that Christian Bale is currently in talks to lead the film. It’s interesting to note that, while the two haven’t been worked with each other on a film we’ve seen, the pair were working on THE FIGHTER for some time prior to Aronofsky leaving that project.

With Bale involved, the film appears to be likely heading for an early 2012 start, as he’ll be relatively busy with THE DARK KNIGHT RISES for the foreseeable future.

Personally, as a fan of both Aronofsky and Bale, this is a more than interesting pairing. I think it’s about time the two worked together on a feature project, and this could be the perfect place to do that. Aronofsky is a filmmaker that isn’t afraid to touch on issues surrounding religion or faith, so him taking on a Noah project like this, really has me jazzed. I can’t wait for this damn thing.
