Church might be going to MARS
There has been a lot going on with casting for the upcoming Disney fantasy epic JOHN CARTER OF MARS recently. A few days ago, the news broke that the two principal roles in the film, John Carter and Princess Dejah Thoris, had been officially cast with Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins, respectively. The latest news is a rumor, nothing official, but comes from a pretty reliable source, the actor himself. In a recent interview with Reel Talk, Thomas Hayden Church said that it is likely that he will have a role in the film. Though Church did not say which character he would be playing, I'm pretty sure it won't be as the planet Mars, even though I think it will have plenty of screentime in the film.
I think Thomas Hayden Church is a great actor, one that we don't see in enough films; when we do see him, he almost always delivers, so I definitely hope he ends up having a role in JOHN CARTER OF MARS. Church was especially wonderful as Roach in TALES FROM THE CRYPT: DEMON KNIGHT, where, in one scene, a prostitute charges his nipples with electrical current through a battery and cables, and Church makes us believe every second of it.
