While the first few months of 2011 may not offer much at your local theater, HBO has one hell of a slate that will make staying home a whole lot more intriguing.

Along with their upcoming Todd Haynes-helmed remake of MILDRED PIERCE, they also have the film, CINEMA VERITE which, based on this little teaser trailer we’ve gotten wind of, is definitely worth staying in one night for.

Thanks to /Film, the first trailer for the upcoming Diane Lane, James Gandolfini, and Tim Robbins-starring film has been released, and it’s quite intriguing. The film looks at the making of the famous “PBS documentary ‘AMERICAN FAMILY’, and about the Loud family and it’s a narrative film about this perfect American Family," or so says co-director Shari Springer Berman. Check out the trailer after the break.

Berman co-directed the film with her husband Robert Pulcini, and this is one hell of a strong trailer. I love Gandolfini as director Craig Gilbert, and both Lane and Robbins look truly great here as well. The trailer isn’t much in length, but it does have a great sense of style, and the performances appear to be definitely on point. This is one film that I can’t wait for. It will hit HBO in April.
