Day 3 of CineVegas was a blasty blast, as I got to see my favorite film from the festival thus far - EASIER WITH PRACTICE. I also got to catch up with (500) DAYS OF SUMMER director Marc Webb, as well as Joseph Gordon-Levitt and writers Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber. Then there was an interview with BLACK DYNAMITE director Scott Sanders thrown in there. The rest of the night is somewhat of a proverbial blur.

Check out my CineVegas: day 3 recap after the jump!

My day started where it always does...hanging out in the wondrous CineVegas headquarters. The place is so swanky that it rivals most Vegas clubs, except better because there is free food and drank. You never know who you'll run into in the HQ. For example, as I was hanging out eating a delicious sandwich, in walks in the legendary James Cann and son Scott Cann. I've now met two from the cast of WAY OF THE GUN at CineVegas. Now if only Benicio would make a surprise visit.

BLACK DYNAMITE director Scott Sanders was cool enough to drop by the HQ to talk for a bit about his film and what it's like to try and top classic blaxploitation films that featured things like a black man killing white men by choking them with his super penis. Yes, there is actually a film out there where that happens. Multiple times.

Then it was off to do what I do best. Watch movies and talk about them. I stopped by the red carpet for EASIER WITH PRACTICE where I talked to HURT LOCKER star and SWAT villain (a guilty pleasure film of mine) Jeremy Renner. Next up was the (500) DAYS OF SUMMER red carpet and screening, where I caught up with our SXSW friends director Marc Webb, writers Scott Neustadter, Michael Weber and Joseph Gordon "and the Whale" Levitt. Might I add, this was my fifth time to see the film. Scott told me that, behind his wife, he thinks I hold the record. I'm currently awaiting my certificate.

Joseph was cool enough to give me some tidbits about INCEPTION, the new Christopher Nolan film he stars in with Leonardo DiCaprio. In a duel of the cameras, he filmed me with his camera the whole time I was filming him, so possibly expect that to pop up on his awesome website. Marc, always a super nice dude, and I discussed (500) DAYS OF SUMMER, basically picking up where we left off in our discussion from SXSW. Then he gave me some insight into his next project, the film adaptation of the novel SPECTACULAR NOW, which you should definitely read if you have not.

Then it was off to the pool party at the Palms. I'm not sure what I like better, film festival or film festival after-parties. As I said, my recollection of the night is a little fuzzy at this point, but I remember Joseph Gordon-Levitt telling me to "keep up the integrity," shots with Jody Hill that "burned so good" and ending up a bowling alley where someone supposedly lost a finger two years ago during the CineVegas party there. Don't worry though, I did not wake up with a tiger in my bathroom. Which reminds me that I need to check my closet for any stranded babies.

Today (day 4) should prove to be a fun-filled day of interviews including ones with the legendary Dennis Hopper, Danny Trejo, WINNEBAGO MAN director Ben Steinbauer, HUMPDAY stars Joshua Leonard and Mark Duplass as well as EASIER WITH PRACTICE director Kyle Patrick Alvarez and actor Brian Geraghty.
