Clint Eastwood changing J. EDGAR script? Armie Hammer and Leonardo DiCaprio making out?
Now, while this story may be simply making great headlines, and not really all that interesting story material, there is a lot to talk about here.
First things first. Armie Hammer recently told E! Online (and a hat tip to the wonderful Anne Thompson for digging this up), that he and his upcoming J. EDGAR co-star, Hoover himself Leonardo DiCaprio, will be making out on screen.
Hammer plays Clyde Toulson, Hoover’s alleged lover, so while this may not seem all that shocking, it is interesting to note that the film, directed by Clint Eastwood and penned by Dustin Lance Black, apparently doesn’t have a bit of sex or anything like that, just “sexual tension and innuendo” according to The Playlist, who have read the film’s script.
The interesting thing to note here is that Eastwood, a no frills filmmaker, rarely ever touches a screenplay prior to shooting. A notorious first draft director, apparently some sort of changes have been made either in the script, or during the shoot, as this is apparently against the film’s beloved screenplay.
That all said, it really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, as this is one film that I can’t wait to check out. What about you?
