Talk about telling everyone you’re still here.

According to Vulture, it appears as though Clint Eastwood is interested in bringing in Joaquin Phoenix to star in his upcoming, Dustin Lance Black-penned look at the life of J. Edgar Hoover, set to star Leonardo DiCaprio. The film, entitled HOOVER, will follow the life of the former Director of the FBI, and will apparently take a look at his love life, which is where Phoenix will allegedly come in.

The outlet is reporting that he would play Hoover’s “gay lover” Clyde Tolson, and personally, while that doesn’t mean much if you know about Hoover's controversial personal life, the film does apparently have a bit of homosexual subtext, which coming from Black and Eastwood, will be a really interesting concept. The screenplay itself handles the sexuality here really well, according to those who have read the script, so it looks like this could be a really great project.

And hey, you can’t argue with yet another project getting tossed the way of Phoenix, and actor who has been more than missed while making I'M STILL HERE. This is music to my ears.
