Colin Hanks is quite the channel surfer. After stints on AMC's Mad Men and Fox's failed The Good Guys, the son of Tom has joined Showtime's Dexter for the full 12-episode season.

TV Line is reporting that Hanks will play Travis, "a highly intelligent expert on ancient artifacts who gets linked to a series of grisly murders in Miami." Now whether this Travis is meant to be friend or foe to everyone's favorite serial killer do-gooder, that is unknown. But it doesn't appear that Season 6 will follow the patterns of those before it, focusing on one nemesis to Dexter Morgan.

Showtime president David Nevins told TV Line, “It is not [about] one big bad...there’s one interesting story that will move through the season, and it will be cast very interestingly, but it’s not exactly that one person.”

To give you a little taste of the blood, Showtime has premiered a teaser trailer for fall's new season via their YouTube page. And a tease it most certainly is, as it shows absolutely nothing new, but rather recaps the past seasons (completely omitting Season 5 as if it never existed, which I'm sure some fans of the series would be fine with). Check it out after the break.
