I don’t know which is more prevalent coming out of each respective Comic Con- rumors or actual news.

Yet another rumor coming out of this year’s Con, The Playlist is reporting that David S. Goyer, one of the two names connected to the upcoming SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL film (along with Jonathan Nolan), may actually get his day to shine in the world of DC films. But, possibly with a different character.

The outlet is reporting that the director is set to be announced, “within the next 48 hours,” as the part of the upcoming Wonder Woman film, with a 2013 release date set.  Now, there is no information as to what his role will be with relation to the film, but apparently he is going to be connected to the film in some sort of way.

Personally, while I’m not a huge fan of Goyer or his work, Wonder Woman is a character that is more than due for a feature film.  She’s basically a female version of Superman, and is just as powerful as the big guy in many different ways, so she’s more than perfect fodder for a full film.  Nicolas Winding Refn has wanted this film for a while, and sure, Goyer is definitely no Refn, but as long as we get a Wonder Woman announcement this weekend, I’ll be a happy DC geek.
