Could the female lead in SUPERMAN be a villain?
Apparently this has been Superman’s week.
After casting the man himself on Sunday (with Henry Cavill, for those just now getting from under their rocks), news has arisen regarding shortlists for both Lois Lane, and recently, the true “female lead” for the hotly anticipated super hero picture.
Well, thanks to the scoop hounds over at Latino Review, we may now know what that mysterious role will in fact be.
The outlet is reporting that they have learned that the role will be for that of Ursa, right hand gal of one General Zod. The character has appeared before on screen in both SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE as well as SUPERMAN II, but with no real news surrounding the connection of Zod himself to the picture, this can mean only one of two things.
Latino Review has a great track record not only with superhero scoops, but particularly those related to WB franchises, so this could either be an ill-informed scoop (about as likely as me winning the Super Bowl if you ask me), or Zod will be playing a much bigger role in the film than we expect. Maybe a final reveal at the end?
Diane Kruger, who is joined on this characters short list with Alice Eve and Rosamund Pike, has since denied her involvement with the film, so this will not be the last time we hear about this story. Here’s to hoping this one is true, because I absolutely love this idea.
