Craig Gillespie to helm PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES
The revolving door that is the director’s chair of Lionsgate’s upcoming adaptation of Seth Graham-Smith’s beloved revisionist novel, Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, has apparently gotten locked up, as Deadline is reporting that Craig Gillespie (LARS AND THE REAL GIRL, the upcoming FRIGHT NIGHT remake) will take on the gig.
Coming after the mention of Gillespie’s name a while back as the frontrunner for the director’s chair, it appears as though he will be officially taking on the job, beating out numerous other names. Not 100% done, Gillespie will soon be negotiating his deal.
Gillespie is definitely an interesting choice to take on this story, which is basically the story of Pride And Prejudice, but with flesh eaters involved and will be interesting to see as his follow-up coming after his upcoming FRIGHT NIGHT remake. A really talented director, Gillespie may be a seemingly random name, but with people like Mike White being in the director’s chair previously, it shows us that they are going much lower key than most zombie style projects.
