Creative MOONRISE KINGDOM marketing campaign includes curated character-specific playlists
If you have yet to take a tour of the setting of Wes Anderson's latest, MOONRISE KINGDOM, now might be a good time to survey Penzance Island for yourself before it opens wide this Friday.
At the very least, take a moment to scroll over the 'Characters Area' (aka the Island Police Station, due East of Cape Cooper) to hear Bob Balaban authoritatively instruct you to, "check out photos of the best cast, ever."
There's also this pretty groovy spot to listen to character-specific playlists, curated by the film's Music Supervisor Randall Poster that features a "selection of some of the favorite songs of the denizens of the island." Sam and Suzy's sophisticated tastes are revealed in their selection of Charles Aznavour's "Avec" while Scout Master Ward’s (Field Officer, Troop 55, Khaki Scouts of North America) is somewhat predictable with the whistle-while-you-work "March of the River Kwai" by Mitch Miller.
