Looking for something to do this weekend? Well, if you got a few hours to spare, The Criterion Collection just made going outside a little less appetizing.

Criterion has added 11 new films to their Hulu Plus page, and all for are quite intriguing for various reasons.

First up, the most interesting addition here is GOJIRA, Ishiro Honda’s 1954 masterpiece, which not only introduced the world to Godzilla, but also plays as the original film to the other Criterion Hulu Plus Godzilla film, GODZILLA, KING OF THE MONSTERS.  KING was the Americanized version of this masterpiece, which definitely makes for intriguing postulating for Criterion nerds.  Could this be a hint at a possible GOJIRA Criterion release with KING OF MONSTERS as a supplement? Not out of the question.

Next is John Cassavetes’ SHADOWS.  The director’s first film, SHADOWS is a kinetic and beautifully shot bit of drama and a perfect addition to this slate of films.  The remaining few films include Jack Clayton’s ROOM AT THE TOP, and Rene Clair’s I MARRIED A WITCH, which are both interesting in that they are relatively unspoken classics within the film world. Clair is a fantastic filmmaker and an underrated master, and ROOM AT THE TOP is genuinely a film I’m not all that familiar with.  Finally the site now has Mikio Naruse's WIFE, TOKAIDO YATSUYA KAIDAN, QUARTET (one of the various Merchant Ivory films), PRINCESS YANG KEWI-FEI, PRINCESS FROM THE MOON, BEFORE THE RAIN and Louis Malle's LACOMBE, LUCIEN.

Which films are you most excited to see added?
