Daft Punk’s TRON LEGACY soundtrack gets a release date, but won’t play at Comic-Con
If there is one film that I’m shocked by just how much I’m looking forward to it, it has to be the upcoming film, TRON: LEGACY.
Sure, I enjoy the original, but I absolutely have no nostalgia for it, so prior to the film’s first real trailer, I just thought it was a novel film, which I would see, but not with any sort of urgency. However, after seeing all the promotional material for it, I have to say, it looks utterly fantastic.
And that isn’t even the main reason I want to see it.
According to Stitch (via /Film), we now have a release date set for the film’s score, which has been penned by the brilliant electronic duo known as Daft Punk. Amazon is now accepting preorders for the score, which will hit shelves on November 23, roughly a month prior to its December 17 release date.
While I’m a massive fan of what I’ve seen so far from the film, the score, which can be heard in the latest trailer (and some leaked tracks via YouTube), is what has me truly in. I adore Daft Punk, a personal favorite of mine, and are absolutely perfect for this film. However, with this great news comes some bad news, particularly for those attending this year’s Comic-Con.
Rumors have been circulating connecting Daft Punk to a massive performance at the annual event, with rumblings even linking them to a concert at Petco Park, the stadium located next door to the event. However, according to that same report from /Film, those attending the event shouldn’t expect any sort of performance from the duo, but that their score will again be heard in a new trailer or new footage set to show at the upcoming panel for the film.
Disney has said that they will be having a huge presence at the convention, so let’s hope that something new from not only the film, but this score will make an appearance.
