With the end of the HARRY POTTER franchise comes one of the more interesting times of a given actor’s career that we’ve seen in a very long time.

While only striking out on a film like DECEMBER BOYS in between Potter films, Daniel Radcliffe hasn’t done much outside of that franchise during his career.  However, with his upcoming run on Broadway in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, as well as the lead in a new adaptation of ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT, he has grabbed yet another role in a high profile film.

According to Shock Till You Drop, the actor will be starring in the upcoming ghost story thriller, THE WOMAN IN BLACK.  The film was set to star Michael Fassbender, but with his upcoming role in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY, it looks like he has had to drop out, leaving the seat open for Radcliffe.  The film is set to be helmed by EDEN LAKE director James Watkins.

Personally, while I actually haven’t seen much of Radcliffe’s work in the POTTER films (just haven’t seen them all, I know, shoot me), I do really think that he’s a remarkable talent.  He hasn’t had much of a chance, or much of a drive it appears, to really step out of the POTTER light. But hey, that is about to change, and in one hell of a way.  The premise, about a man who is forced to live in a remote part of the UK while sorting out a former client’s papers after their passing, sounds great. Knowing that it has been called a ghost story type film, makes me all the more excited.
