For fans of David Arquette's directorial debut, 2006's THE TRIPPER (myself among them), the news that he is getting back behind the camera should be pretty exciting. The fact that it's a psychological thriller in the vein of MISERY should also wet the appetite of genre fans.

GLUTTON will be shot in 3D, and although Arquette has previously worked in the format with his short THE BUTLER'S IN LOVE, it will be interesting to see if the film actually makes it to the big screen. Thomas Jane, who co-starred in THE TRIPPER, directed DARK COUNTRY in 3D and the film ended up going straight to DVD, discarding the technology altogether. Will GLUTTON suffer the same fate?

The script was conceived by Kenny Yakkel, who penned DEAD AIR a couple years back - the film was a well-written zombie flick focusing on a late night shock jock (Bill Moseley) who tries desperately to keep his on-air composure once the city of Los Angeles becomes overrun with flesh-eaters. Arquette and Yakkel should make a good team, and if GLUTTON is half as fun and effective as THE TRIPPER, it should be worth seeing regardless of whether or not you have to put on glasses to watch it.

GLUTTON starts shooting this July in Canada.
