Director David Fincher (ZODIAC) and screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker (THE WOLFMAN), who previously worked together on the thriller SE7EN, will once again collaborate for an adaptation of the supernatural thriller THE REINCARNATION OF PETER PROUD.

PROUD tells the tale of a college professor who suddenly begins to have flashbacks of a previous life he may have lived. The man soon follows the visions to find the wife and daughter of the man he was in another life, hoping to discover the key to his nightmares. Things get weird when he begins to fall in love with his one-time daughter.

The novel by Max Ehrlich was already once adapted into a film in 1975, starring Margot Kidder (SUPERMAN) and directed by J. Lee Thompson (1962's CAPE FEAR). It is being reported that Fincher and Walker will revert to the novel as the source material and contemporize the setting.

Seeing as how Fincher thrives in the thriller genre as a director (THE GAME, SE7EN, PANIC ROOM, ZODIAC), as does Walker as a screenwriter (BRAINSCAN, HIDEAWAY, SE7EN, 8MM), I can think of no better pairing to bring forth a new vision of this story. As SE7EN is one of the best thrillers to be made in the recent decades, I am definitely looking forward to seeing what these two artists do as they reteam.
