David Gordon Green to direct the story of Colton Harris-Moore, the Barefoot Burglar?
One of the more interesting teams in film; David Gordon Green, Jody Hill, and Danny McBride, and their studio Rough House Pictures, are looking at getting yet another project off the ground.
According to Variety (via The Playlist), the trio have picked rights to the story of Colton Harris-Moore, with the hopes of getting a feature adaptation of his life, as a directing project for Green.
Colton Harris-Moore is better known as the Barefoot Burglar, and has been living in the woods of Washington State, is self taught on how to drive cars and fly planes-- all of which he has stolen while trying to lose authorizes and avoid capture. Apparently, he is wanted on over 100 different crimes, and currently remains on the run.
Looking at what the filmmaker has done in his career, not only is this perfect and a shot right down his alley, but it’s far more promising than any other film he’s got on his plate. While films like THE SITTER (starring Jonah Hill) and his long gestating remake of Dario Argento’s masterpiece, SUSPIRIA, are indeed intriguing this is exactly what I’ve been long waiting for from the filmmaker.
