David Goyer writing GODZILLA
Apparently Legendary and WB have quite a bit of faith in one David S. Goyer.
After giving him the reigns of MAN OF STEEL following his success on Nolan’s Batman films, the studio has announced (via Deadline), that Goyer will now be penning the script for Legendary’s upcoming reboot of GODZILLA.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film will likely be a relatively lower budget fair than say MAN OF STEEL or THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, but with Edwards at the helm, that shouldn’t be too much of an issue. MONSTERS was a really great feature, and while GODZILLA is a seemingly dead franchise, given the right creative team it could really be revived.

I’m not huge on Goyer’s previous work, particularly the Bat films where the scripts don’t really live up to Nolan’s visual skill, but this could definitely change that. We are in dire need of some more good monster films, so if this can fit that bill, you can definitely count me in.
