David Lynch is a modern renaissance man who has impacted the American ethos via film, television, comic books, acting, and music. Not to mention, in the immortal words of Twin Peaks’ Dale Cooper, Lynch has even given us “a damn fine cup of coffee .”  At present, THE LYNCH THREE PROJECT, the team that brought you LYNCH ONE and LYNCH TWO of the Lynch documentary series, are ready to complete the third and final installation. In order to make this project a reality, THE LYNCH THREE PROJECT went to Kickstarter to partially finance this film to ensure 100% creative control.

Check out Lynch in some new footage after the jump.

What's great about this project is that LYNCH THREE has been given open access to David Lynch, the man, the legend. In this third installment,  the film will explore how the last 60 years impacted Lynch as an artist. One of the challenges in the telling of this story is having the ability to acquire licenses to take you on Lynch's journey. Some influences the filmmakers want to touch upon are a painting by Francis Bacon, a photograph by Diane Arbus, as well as a song by Roy Orbison. Additionally, in support of this project, David Lynch himself has created a unique abstract self-portrait in support that will be converted into lithographs to share with their supporters. These prints are pretty affordable starting with a $75 pledge.

Also, if one pledges $200 it will get printed on handmade Arches 250 gram archival paper used to publish the complete works of Voltaire and Napoleon’s Description of Egypt. David is going to sign and number the lithographs (which also includes the completed film on DVD and the person's name in the end credits). Personally, I would love to have this hanging in my living room.
