Diablo Cody to make directorial debut with LAMB OF GOD
Diablo Cody will make her directorial debut with LAMB OF GOD, a self-penned comedy film, Deadline has confirmed.
LAMB OF GOD is set to follow a young conservative religious woman who loses her faith after a plane crash. She decides to go to Vegas and live the life of a sinner, and somehow finds her faith along the way.
The project seems to reflect Cody's personal life rather heavily. Before she became an Academy Award =-winning screenwriter, she was a stripper who used her blog as a means of escape, eventually writing the screenplay for JUNO, a film that propelled her into the limelight in the blink of an eye.
Mandate Pictures have picked up the rights to LAMB OF GOD. They commented on the acquisition by saying, "Having been in the trenches with Diablo and Mason on Juno and Young Adult, we immediately jumped at the opportunity to partner again [...] It's an honor to be part of Diablo's transition to director."
Cody's new film, YOUNG ADULT, sees her re-teaming with JUNO director Jason Reitman, and will be released later this year.
