Diane Kruger, Rosamund Pike, and Alice Eve up for female lead in SUPERMAN; won’t be Lois Lane

Talk about an interesting series of events.

While much of this week’s focus was on both the announcement of Henry Cavill as the next actor to toss on the Superman costume, and a short list of actresses allegedly testing for the role of Lois Lane, Variety has revealed that Lois herself will not be the film’s female lead.

The outlet is reporting that Alice Eve, Diane Kruger, and Rosamund Pike are currently in the running for the upcoming Zack Snyder directed film’s female lead, which has yet to be truly revealed. If I were a betting man, I’d have to say it would be for Cat Grant, a Daily Planet gossip reporter that ultimately plays one of the members of a love triangle between her, Lane, and one Clark Kent.

Personally, while I’m not massively familiar with the character, I do love these three actresses, so it all sounds good to me.  All three are great thespians, particularly Kruger, who really should be getting much more work.
