Disney close to deal for TRON: LEGACY director Joseph Kosinski’s next film, OBLIVION
With TRON: LEGACY being one of the darlings of this year’s Comic-Con, it looks as though Disney doesn’t want to end its relationship with director Joseph Kosinski quite yet.
According to Deadline, Disney is the front runner to release Kosinski’s next film, a new project known as OBLIVION, which is based off of a graphic novel that he created, which will be released by Random House later this year. Best described as a live action take on a story similar to WALL-E, it takes place in a world where Earth is a complete wasteland, and humans live above the planet’s surface. A man meets a woman while on the surface, and the two fall in love while on their adventure.
Sure, it sounds like a WALL-E rehash, but by the looks of TRON: LEGACY, I really can’t help but have a lot of anticipation for this project. I think TRON looks completely arresting visually, and I would love to see what a wasteland of a planet would look like from Kosinski.
A deal is nearly complete, so more on this as it comes.
