Director Neill Blomkamp may be getting most of the buzz after the 2009 sci-fi stunner, DISTRICT 9, but writer Terri Tatchell has just gotten herself quite a gig of her own.

According to the NY Times, the DISTRICT 9 co-writer has been tapped by Media Rights Capital to pen their upcoming adaptation of Amanda Hocking’s popular Trylle Trilogy series of books. The company has two films planned, based off of Hocking’s three fantasy novels, which follow “a high school girl who discovers a world inhabited by beautiful trolls."

Tatchell seems excited about the project, saying that “Amanda has created such a fresh, unique, fabulous world, and I am absolutely dead set on bringing it to the screen without compromising any of that.”  ersonally, while I’m not all that familiar with the book series, Tatchell is quite a talent to put behind a film like this, so there is quite a bit of potential here.
