Dominic Cooper is out of MOTOR CITY and Jake Gyllenhaal takes the drivers seat
MOTOR CITY sounds like a pretty interesting project. Despite having a somewhat standard plot, a framed man goes after the guy who framed him, apparently the film features very little dialogue. Some movies use silence to really drive them, which often turn into very powerful, memorable moments. It sounds like that is what MOTOR CITY is striving for.
Originally, Dominic Cooper was set to play the lead role, but he has just been replaced with Jake Gyllenhaal.
Cooper moving on brings Gyllenhaal in to act alongside Amber Heard as the female lead, and one of my all-time favorite actors as the villain, Gary Oldman. Oldman plays villains quite well, and going against Gyllenhaal will be an interesting dichotomy. The film is going to be directed by one half of the Hughes Brothers, Albert Hughes.
The film is supposed to start filming this spring.
