Dominic Monaghan calls fellow ‘Lost’ co-star Matthew Fox a “woman beater” on Twitter
Say what you will about Twitter being a bullhorn for the gibbering cacophony of the internet. Sometimes it can break a pretty interesting story or two.
Like this one, where one of Dominic Monaghan's (LORD OF THE RINGS, Lost) followers beseeched him a few days ago to ask fellow Lost-ian star Matthew Fox to start up a Twitter account of his own. Monaghan's answer was a tad on the blunt side:
@omggbeccaa he beats women. No thanks.

For those uninitiated in the Twitter-verse, that blue checkmark next to Dom's name means that he has been indeed verified as the "real" Dominic Monaghan, lest some of you wonder if this is an impostor in disguise. Nope, that's Dom in the flesh, accusing Matthew Fox of smacking women around.
When celeb-on-celeb attacks happen in this day and age, the internet hive mind's first instinct is to divvy themselves up into the Hatfields and McCoys. This instance, of course, was no exception. @omgbeccaa's bizarre response was to opine that Monaghan should try to look past the ugly 'Matthew Fox thumps on chicks' stuff and remember the good times that he had with Fox on the Lost set (known in some circles as the 'Chris Brown defense'). Dominic's response is an unamused one:
@omggbeccaa how do you know we ever did?you don't know either of us.he beats women.not isolated incidents.often.not interested.

An audacious claim from Monaghan, considering that Fox has never been convicted of any violent act towards women. Of course, he was just pulled over for drinking and driving just a few weeks ago. And then there was that time in August of last year when the female driver of a party bus in Cleveland said that a severely intoxicated Fox tried to board her bus without permission and, when she refused him entry, he punched her repeatedly in the breasts.
So is this just a byproduct of some unresolved bad blood between former television co-stars or does booze and women make Matthew Fox a little beat-y? When prodded by an angry member of Team Matthew that he could be the target of a lawsuit because of his accusations, Dominic Monaghan's final thought on the subject wrapped his opinion up pretty neatly:
"...It's very difficult to sue someone for speaking the truth..."
With all this in mind, at least we now probably know the reason for Dominic's incredibly uncomfortable smile in this article's main picture: he hates that other dude's guts. Another celebrity feud brought to you by Twitter.
