DONNIE DARKO 3 is happening
Dear God, this is the worst news I've heard all week. Bloody Disgusting just got an exclusive report that 20th Century Fox is working on a third installment in the should-have-only-been-one DONNIE DARKO franchise. There is also a rumor that Richard Kelly might have some type of involvement. This worries me.
The straight-to-DVD sequel, S. DARKO - which took place some-odd years later and focused on Donnie's also doomed sister, Samantha - was clearly an awful re-envisioning of the first. Daveigh Chase reprised her role as Samantha, and I'm assuming she'll be back for the third. I'm going to call it DONNIE DARKO THREE: THINGS ARE GETTING REALLY DARK Y'ALL.
I love you, 20th Century - you've created many classic and enjoyable films - but c'mon!
