DreamWorks picks up GENNERIS pitch
With a recent influx of science fiction films making their way to the big screen, DreamWorks has nabbed up yet another pitch with the hopes of making it a player in this genre.
Variety has revealed that the studio has picked up a new spec script by first time writer Nic Kelman, entitled GENNERIS. The writer is best known for penning the novel, girls, which is a best-selling piece of literature that has apparently completely gone over the head of this writer.
At this point, that’s all that the studio has released regarding this project, so it remains to be seen as to what exactly we’ll be getting here. The title is a bit ridiculous, but then again, that’s seemingly a natural idea for sci-fi films, so that’s not really an issue. I do have really high hopes for the film, as we are always in need of some really great sci-fi, so while we know nothing about the film, that may ultimately be the best thing.
