Dwayne Johnson in negotiations for lead role in SNITCH
Dwayne Johnson's acting career has been full of two types of movies, the family comedy or the excessive action movie. While most of his films have been hit or miss, there's no sign of him slowing down any time soon.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the wrestler-turned-actor is currently in negotiations for the lead role in another action film, SNITCH. SNITCH will add to his recent action films, such as last year's FASTER and this year's FAST AND THE FURIOUS sequel FAST FIVE.
SNITCH will be written and directed by Ric Roman Waugh (FELON) for Exclusive Media. The film "centers on a suburban father who is hit hard when his teenage son is sentenced to 30 years under mandatory minimum drug laws. In order to reduce his son's sentence, the father goes undercover to serve up a senior drug dealer. The story is based on a Frontline documentary."
The project has been stuck in development for a while, originally being made over at New Line and planned to be directed by Carl Franklin. The original script that Waugh is rewriting was penned by Justin Haythe.
Nigel Sinclair, Guy East, and Alex Brunner, with David Fanning and Gordon Gray, are also producing alongside Exclusive.
