Apparently we are about to see the rise of a new actor, as Brit thespian Eddie Redmayne has nabbed up yet another role.

After narrowly missing out on the lead role in  Steven Spielberg’s upcoming WAR HORSE, Redmayne turned in a solid performance in The Pillars of the Earth and recently joined the upcoming television show, The Miraculous Year, which sees Kathryn Bigelow as the show’s pilot’s director. Now The Daily Mail is reporting that the actor has joined the cast of the Simon Curtis-directed MY WEEK WITH MARILYN.

The film stars Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench, and of course, Michelle Williams as Marilyn, and is based on the diary of an employee of the legendary Lawrence Olivier, as he was shooting THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWGIRL with Marilyn Monroe. Redmayne will be that very employee.

Personally, while I haven’t seen much of this actor’s work, I do have a ton of interest in this film, particularly now knowing that Redmayne, an actor that appears to be getting courted by the biggest names in Hollywood, has jumped aboard.  The cast overall is fantastic, and while it may not be quite as interesting as the Andrew Dominik-directed Marilyn Monroe film, it does definitely hold its own.

What do you think?

Eddie Redmayne is very deserving of the chance, he’ll win The Oscar Award for this movie. An adorable actor, Spielberg will be sorry for not hiring him.
