While her older, twin sisters may take most of the tabloid headlines, it is Elizabeth Olsen that appears to have the acting chops in the family.

Currently taking Park City, Utah and this year’s Sundance Film Festival by storm with her starring role in the film MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE.  Co-starring names like John Hawkes and Hugh Dancy, her performance has been the talk of the town, and with a starring role in Jim Sheridan’s upcoming film, DREAM HOUSE, the actress has found herself as one of the film world’s current “it” actresses.

And now, THR is reporting that she has joined the cast of the upcoming Rodrigo Cortes film, RED LIGHTS.

Cortes’ follow up to BURIED, the film stars Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver and Cillian Murphy and follows a psychologist and her assistant who study paranormal activity, who ultimately meet a psychic coming back into the game. Olsen will be the assistant.

While I have not seen MARTHA MARCY buzz has been decidedly positive, particularly about her performance, and the fact that she’s worked with Jim Sheridan makes me think that she is much more than just an “it” girl.  She seems to be hugely talented, so the addition of her to this film definitely adds some intrigue.  I can’t wait to see what she has to offer here.
