Ethan Hawke joining TOTAL RECALL
Apparently THR hates cameos.
The outlet is reporting that Ethan Hawke has joined the cast of the upcoming remake of TOTAL RECALL, in what was being billed as a secret cameo turn for the actor. He joins Colin Farrell and Bryan Cranston in the film, along with Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel (who are both in negotiations) in the remake.
Hawke’s cameo role has not been revealed yet, but I would imagine that the role is something relatively big, as there doesn’t seem much of a reason to cast an actor of Hawke’s stature in the role. A villain hinted at in the first film to cover tracks for a potential sequel? Don’t color me shocked if that’s the case.
Personally, while I’m a fan of the original film, I really don’t have much interest in this project. Len Wiseman is helming the film, and while the cast is relatively interesting, I don’t see the reason as to why this remake is getting so much steam. What do you think?
