Eva Green joins DARK SHADOWS
Just a day after it was revealed that Tim Burton was looking at Jackie Earle Haley and Bella Heathcoate for his upcoming take on the 60s era TV soap, Dark Shadows, you can chalk up another cast member to the ever-growing group.
Deadline is reporting that Eva Green has been cast in the female lead role of the upcoming film, Angelique. The character is “a powerful witch who was alternately tormented and bewitched by her love-hate relationship with Barnabas Collins. Johnny Depp will play Collins.”
Personally, while I’m not at all a fan of Tim Burton or his recent work, this does sound like a really compelling project. Green is a fantastic actress, and has the visual look to really work not only within this world specifically, but within a Tim Burton-directed world. Depp is an fine actor, and the two will certainly burn up the screen in many ways, and then when you add the likes of Jackie Earle Haley and Bella Heathcoate, you have the makings of something really compelling.
