One of my favorite films of the decade past that still has yet to truly find its footing amongst the public (for reasons unknown to this writer) is Sofia Coppola’s stunning MARIE ANTOINETTE.

Well, according to Bleeding Cool, Antoinette is getting another chance on celluloid.

The outlet is reporting that Eva Green, Lea Seydoux, and Gerard Depardieu will star in the upcoming Benoit Jacquot-directed adaptation of the Chantal Thomas novel, Farewell, My Queen.

Green will star as Antoinette (in one of the best pieces of casting I think I’ve heard in a very long time) in the film, which will follow her majesty in the final days of the French Revolution. Depardieu’s part has yet to be named, with Seydoux starring as a reader to the queen.

Personally, while I haven’t seen any of Jacquot’s work, I can’t help but be intrigued by a film with this high a caliber of cast.I adore Green as an actress, and you can’t ask for two better supporters than Seydoux and Depardieu. Count me more than in.
