Evan Spiliotopoulos to write OUIJA for McG
Yes, it’s still very much alive.
While news coming out of Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes camp with regards to their much-talked about take on the Hasbro board game, Ouija, the film has now finally, or unfortunately, found a writer.
After having TRON: LEGACY scribes Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz take a pass at the project, THR is reporting that Evan Spiliotopoulos has been tapped to pen a new draft of the film’s screenplay. The film will be helmed by McG, and will be “a four-quadrant supernatural adventure centering around a family, with influences from THE MUMMY and INDIANA JONES.
Sounding eerily like a little Joe Johnston film you may have heard of, JUMANJI, this is definitely one of the most discussed projects around the film world, for better or for worse. Personally, I have absolutely no hopes for this project, and knowing that they’ve tapped the writer behind POOH’S HEFFALUMP HALLOWEEN MOVIE to write the script definitely doesn’t help that. This is simply a project that I don’t quite understand why it will eventually exist. Beats me.
