Bill Hicks is arguably one of the greatest comedians of all time, so it's a shame that his life was cut short at the tender age of 32 due to pancreatic cancer in 1994.

Last year filmmakers Matt Harlock and Paul Thomas toured the festival circuit with their documentary about the man's work and life, AMERICAN: THE BILL HICKS STORY. This incredible film helped fans of Hicks and the people unknowing of his career better understand his comedy and who he was on a personal level. AMERICAN went on to win some great awards and was finally released on Blu-ray and DVD a few weeks ago. You can buy AMERICAN on Amazon (DVD : http://amzn.to/ioGYZh & Blu-ray:http://amzn.to/lVypLi) and rent on Demand (http://tinyurl.com/6bse4ld).

Harlock emailed me a featurette not included in the specials features for the Blu-ray and DVD release. After the break, watch Richard Linklater, Keith Olbermann, Colin Hanks, Paul Provenza, and Bob Weide talk about AMERICAN: THE BILL HICKS STORY and the legacy of Hicks himself.
