Sylvester Stallone

God bless Sylvester Stallone. After all these years, he is still just as bad-ass as ever. He proved just that last year when his super-project, THE EXPENDABLES was released. Not only did the film have all the awesome action stars that we looked up to as kids, but it ended up being a giant hit in the box office, raking in over $270 million.

We all knew that a sequel was coming, but now we know exactly when.

EXPENDABLES 2 will be releasing on August 17th, 2012, following the formula of the first film which had an August 13 release. We should note that this will put the films release one week after that of G.I. JOE 2. The R rating of EXPENDABLES will set it apart from it's exploding eye-candy rival, but there is no doubt that their close releases will have some sort of effect on the box office.

Most of the cast is expected to come back from the sequel, and we can probably expect even more big name stars to join the fray. It's great to see they were able to work out the scheduling for the film, as with that many actors it can be hard sometimes, especially with their high profiles.

Are you guys stoked for EXPENDABLES 2?

Can’t be, it was posted a day early. Come on, it’ll be a popcorn movie. Fun to watch (but maybe on a matinee) ;)
