The future will be inhabited by Jeff Bridges looking really cool in a white crew neck sweater with some sort of glowing orb attached. Hot on the heels of his Oscar nomination for CRAZY HEART, Disney has released a picture of the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award winner from the upcoming TRON: LEGACY. The picture has us scratching our heads as to what could be going on and the reason for Bridges' fluorescent accessory.

TRON: LEGACY follows Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the son of Kevin Flynn (Bridges), as he  investigates his father’s disappearance and finds himself in the  world of Tron, where his father has been living for 25 years. They must work together to escape the exceedingly dangerous cyber universe.

The movie stars Bridges, Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen, John Hurt, and Beau Garrett. TRON: LEGACY hits U.S. theaters on December 17, 2010.

My first guess would be that's an identity disk on his back.

I can't recommend TRON enough. When you view it with the mind of what computing was like back then, and what the perceptions of it were, it really opens up the world. And some of the people/programs make more sense. Oh, and smooth and cool Syd Mead designs are just gorgeous. There's plenty of time to explore while waiting for Legacy. :)

Hehe, I think it was Chase who admitted to not having seen TRON earlier and I highly recommend it. If you can get the 20th anniversary edition, its got some great extras on the making of. And really, its a chance to geek out over the first use of computer graphics in a flim.
