First look at Joss Whedon’s MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
While it may take a second to get to, waiting to see the first, albeit short, glimpse at Joss Whedon’s upcoming AVENGERS follow-up, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, is definitely worth the wait.
Near the end of a CBS Sunday Morning feature on Whedon and his upcoming superhero blockbuster, we become privy to about a ten second long clip from the upcoming Shakespeare adaptation, which the director shot over two weeks at his home during post-production on THE AVENGERS.
Now, the footage isn’t much, as we really only see actor and Whedon’s right hand man Fran Kranz speaking to Agent Coulson, AKA Clark Gregg, but it is no less interesting. Kranz and Gregg play Claudio and Leonato respectively, and both look great, spouting off a verse from the play like it were second nature, and the black and white photography really looks top notch. It’s not much, but at least its something.
Personally, while I’m obviously excited and freaking out about seeing THE AVENGERS, I think I’m a bit more interested in seeing what Whedon can do with something far more intimate, particularly in knowing that it was shot while he was still working on THE AVENGERS. I have the highest of expectations for this sucker, so here’s to hoping it can deliver.
