After her latest film, AN EDUCATION, made the massive splash that it did, Lone Scherfig launched directly to the top of the list of directors to really watch out for.

Well, we now not only have our first look at her next film, an adaptation of the David Nicholls novel, One Day, but the film also has a new cast member, and one hell of a cast member that is. Check out the cast member, and a glimpse at the movie, after the jump.

According to a Facebook announcement, actress Patricia Clarkson has joined the cast of the hotly anticipated film, which stars Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess, and follows the two on a single day, over twenty years, after they have a one night stand.

Personally, not only is this cast shaping up to be rather fantastic, this premise is really what gets me interested. I love the idea of seeing these two people, who have no real connection other than one fateful night, over the next twenty years. It’s a fantastic concept for a film, and with this kind of cast and filmmaker behind it, you have the makings for one hell of a film.
