With the final portion of the HARRY POTTER film franchise set to kick off in a few weeks with the release of THE DEATHLY HALLOWS: PART 1, star Daniel Radcliffe doesn’t look to be wasting any time when it comes to making his name outside of the franchise.

Thanks to Coming Soon (via The Film Stage) we have our first look at the actor in the upcoming film, THE WOMAN IN BLACK, and I have to say, it looks quite solid.

The film has been penned by Jane Goldman, best known for her script for this year’s KICK-ASS, and is based on a Susan Hill novel which follows a lawyer who “travels to a remote village to organize a recently deceased client’s papers, where he discovers the ghost of a scorned woman set on vengeance. Not receiving any help from the locals, he must uncover the truth himself.”

The film looks really solid, and has a rather interesting premise, so with the creative talent behind the film as top notch as it is, this may very well be the perfect film for Radcliffe to step out of his POTTER shadow with.

WOMAN IN BLACK makes its way into theaters in 2011.
