First Look: PASSION PLAY
Coming out of the dreadful piece of cinematic slop that was THE EXPENDABLES, one thing stood above the rest: Mickey Rourke is a charismatic motherlover.
Giving what was easily the best performance of the film, as well as being the meat behind the film’s best and most powerful scene, he has again proven that given this new, post-THE WRESTLER life, he’s making the most of it.
Now we have our first real look at his next film (via The Playlist), the Mitch Glazer-directed, Megan Fox co-starring film, PASSION PLAY. The film follows a trumpet player, played by Rourke, who “seeks redemption through an angel in 1950’s LA.”
Personally, while the idea of Mickey Rourke starring in a film is reason enough for me to get excited, I really do love this premise too. I love Fox being in this film, as it may prove that she does have more than just smoking hot, porn star looks, and while that may simply be wishful thinking, I have really high hopes for this thing. It looks great, and the cast, including Rhys Ifans, Rory Cochrane and Bill Murray, is why I think this thing could be a big film to keep an eye on.
