The above image is one of two new shots from Michel Gondry's THE GREEN HORNET, which is due out in theaters January 14, 2011. When GATW interviewed Gondry back in March, the director was in the editing stages and described the film as "a bit of a cross between PINEAPPLE EXPRESS and BACK TO THE FUTURE." I'm guessing he didn't say that when he pitched the film to Sony.

Check out the much more explosive new pic after the break.

Seth Rogen (The Green Hornet) and Jay Chou (Kato) look good together, don't they? The pairing of the two comedy actors is a good one and hopefully we'll see some electricity between the two once the trailer finally hits.

Originally, THE GREEN HORNET was supposed to drop this July, but was bumped back to the dumping ground of January after an announcement that the film was going to be converted into 3D. This will help the film's box office and right now Sony is probably glad they didn't place HORNET into this abysmal summer season.
