It is with great pleasure that I bring you the first trailer for the "cancer comedy," 50/50. With the release of this trailer, I can finally break my silence on this wonderfully unique film that straddles the line between tragedy and comedy in a way we don't often get to see. I was lucky enough to take in a very early screening of the film last month, and I've been bursting at the seams to tell you all about it ever since. Based on the true story of writer Will Reiser's cancer scare, 50/50 stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Adam, a regular twentysomething who's shocked to learn that he has the big C. Seth Rogen stars as a version of himself, playing Adam's best friend Kyle who grapples with the news in his own way.

The trailer opens with a special message from some of the 50/50 team, and then takes us through the different stages of acceptance in the face of big (awful) news. This first trailer is a great example of the spirit and the feel of the film - it's both funny and sad, and you'll laugh as much as you'll cry. In short - it's one of my favorite films of the year so far.

You can check out the trailer over at Apple.

50/50 opens on September 30.
