It should be only fitting on this Cinco de Mayo that we bring you the first trailer for Robert Rodriguez's MACHETE, a film that look to celebrate Hispanic heritage in the only way it knows how. By kicking some serious culo!

Rodriguez and Machete himself, Danny Trejo, dropped by the casa of Harry Knowles to personally deliver what they called the "Illegal" trailer. It is most definitely red band in nature, and kicks off with a message to the state of Arizona - which is currently under fire for its strict immigration laws. In other words, you're not going to see this one in theaters, folks!

If you weren't aware, MACHETE itself began as just a trailer, born out of a series of faux previews featured within GRINDHOUSE, Rodriguez and Tarantino's stab at a concept film that aimed to pay homage to exploitation horror films of the '60s and '70s. Rodriguez went on to develop MACHETE into a full-length feature, more akin to "Mexploitation." In short, it's a throwback to old school action with a lot of cojones!

The film has an all-star cast including Trejo as the titular mad Mexican, Robert De Niro, Steven Seagal, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, and Cheech Marin. Oh, and who could forget newcomer Don Johnson!

The film hits theaters this September 3.
