First trailer for TOTAL RECALL arrives
Hitting the web on the perfect day of the year for a trailer like this, April Fool’s Day, we’ve now gotten the first trailer for the upcoming remake of TOTAL RECALL, starring Colin Farrell.
Helmed by Len Wiseman, the film follows a man who has had his memory wiped, only to find out that he’s one hell of a killer. Co-starring the likes of Kate Beckinsale, John Cho and Bryan Cranston, the film itself looks shiny and glossy, but also looks like one of the oddest little sci-fi pictures we’ve seen in a while.
The action here looks fine. Wiseman has always had more creative action set pieces than your average hack, making him a strange, but fitting choice for the director’s chair. However, the script appears to be half-assed at best, focusing not on this impressive world, but the relationship between our lead and potential (read: probable) love interest. Paul Verhoven’s original is so fun and entertaining that it remains to be seen if Wiseman will have the same type of style here.
