With Paris, New York and Tokyo already having themselves their respective omnibus films, and the likes of Sydney, Havana, Jerusalem, Rio and Shanghai all looking to get theirs into production, two more films have joined the party.

Paramyth Films is set to start production on both ATHENS, MY CITY and TBILISI, MY CITY, with Malcolm McDowell attached to star in the latter (hat tip to The Playlist). ATHENS, and likely its counterpart, will feature 12 directors taking on three-to-ten minute shorts, all focusing on the titular cities.

While I really loved PARIS, JE T'AIME, its follow up NEW YORK, I LOVE YOU was a flawed mess, and even though TOKYO was a tad scatterbrained (even though it feature a brilliant little short for Leos Carax), I’m actually kind of excited for these films. I love omnibus films, even though they are often mixed at bestWith the right talent, this could be something really special.
