While it’s been quite some time since 2006’s LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris have found themselves attached to a cavalcade of projects. However, none of them really found their footing. That is, until now.

Deadline is reporting that the pair have found their next film, HE LOVES ME, get picked up by Fox Searchlight, who is set to have the film start shooting come this July. Jeff Bridges is being looked at for a role in the film, which will follow a young writer who must deal with his writer's block after having success in the early stages of his career. Compared to both ADAPTATION and WEIRD SCIENCE, the film will star Paul Dano and Zoe Kazan, with the latter being the film’s writer.

While I’m not a huge fan of SUNSHINE, I do really love the premise of this film, and the idea of Dano reteaming with Dayton/Faris is definitely intriguing. Bridges' potential involvement also adds a lot to be interested in with regards to this film, so while it has been some time since the directing duo where in the spotlight, it appears as though they are coming back strong.
