Damn it.

After much anticipation, and after even more teasing of a 2010 release, it looks like Terrence Malick’s latest film, TREE OF LIFE, will be sorely missed this fall and winter seasons.

That’s right, according to a press release issued today, the hotly anticipated film will be arriving in 2011. However, not all is sad. That press release was sent out by the film’s newly found distributor, Fox Searchlight, who have now nabbed up the rights to what is far and away one of the most talked about films of recent memory.

At this point, just as it was this time a year ago, a Cannes premiere looks obvious for next year, but then again, this is Terrence Malick’s TREE OF LIFE, so for all we know, it could be shelved until even later than that. However, Fox Searchlight, being the bastions of a mid-major that they are, will definitely be giving this one a wide release, so fall 2011 is looking like the perfect time.

What do you think about this news?
