Well I guess making a 3D film isn't as hard as some may think.

According to Variety (via The Playlist), the directing duo of Pascal Sid and Julien Lacombe are looking to make their feature film debut with a film called BEHIND THE WALLS. While that in and of itself should not be shocking, or that it will star model turned actress Laetitia Casta, it’s what the film is going to try to do that will shock some.

The outlet is reporting that the duo will be shooting the film, which follows "a young novelist who moves to a creepy village to write a book and falls victim to terrifying hallucinations and nightmares,” in hopes of making it a 3D picture. Oh, did I mention the budget was going to be just south of $5 million? That’s right, a $5 million 3D film.

Now, while they will undoubtedly be using an up conversion style take on their 3D, this just goes to prove that while 3D may look fine and dandy, and may make a boat ton of cash for studios, that it takes nothing more than cinematic pennies to get one up on the screen. Hopefully this will prove to lovers of the format that it’s nothing more than a money grab.

The film should hit early 2011.
